Led by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, arrived to attend the 89th birthday ceremony of the Dalai Lama at his main temple in McLeodganj. The delegation received a warm welcome from the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA). Chief Minister Tamang will be the chief guest at the official celebration held at Thekchen Choeling Tsuglakhang in Dharamshala on July 6th.

The delegation from Sikkim comprises various dignitaries, including the Chief Minister, the Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, and several ministers and MLAs. Embarked on this tour to coincide with the Dalai Lama’s birthday. The tour aims to provide participants with insights into the functioning of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) and deepen their understanding of Tibetan culture and traditions.

In another part of India, the Bomdila Buddhist Society (BBS) organized a mass plantation drive in and around the Bomdila Pass in West Kameng district to mark the 89th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Trees are plant every year on the Dalai Lama’s birthday. An initiative led by the 12th Guru Tulku Rinpoche of Thubchog Gatsel Ling Monastery. “We must take care of the fragile environment,” Rinpoche said, expressing concern over global warming and its impacts on Earth. He also prayed for the long life and good health of the spiritual leader. Over 300 saplings were planted on the occasion, symbolizing the community’s commitment to environmental stewardship and honoring the Dalai Lama’s teachings on the interconnectedness of all life.
