Architecture of ISKCON Temple, Ahmedabad
An enchanting temple reflects a perfect blend of Gujarat Sompura as well as Rajasthani Khamira styles of architecture. Tourists entering the temple can see the astounding images of Lord Vishnu and his different avatars on both sides of the walls.
Spread over an area of 1.3 hectares of land it houses the images of Radha and Govinda, Rama, Sita, Lakshmana and Hanuman, Jagannath Baladev, Shrinathji and Subhadraji. Witness the golden idol of Lord Narasimha and Goddess Lakshmi placed before the images of Radha and Govinda.
It has a massive hall extending upto 12000 sq feet that can accommodate around 4000 devotees. Also known as Sri Radha Govinda Dham, it is topp with majestic stone domes with beautiful carvings from Krishna’s life. There are three domes which extend upto 50 feet in diameter.
This marble floored sacred complex has intricately carved windows built in Khamira and Rajasthani Mewas style. The ceilings are beautifully ornament with several images of Radha and Krishna. Ceilings and the walls of the temple are decorat with murals illustrating stories from Krishna’s life.
Devotees can also pay their obeisance to the idols of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati. A noteworthy feature of the glorious temple is the harmonic chandeliers. The peaceful ambiance and the rhythmic chanting of Hare Krishna invoke a sense of happiness and peace of mind.

How to Reach ISKCON Temple, Ahmedabad
ISKCON Temple is situat on Satellite road on Sarkhej Gandhinagar Road. Ahmedabad is well connect with all the cities of the country through air, rail and road. The nearest airport is Sardar Vallabhai Patel airport which is 18 km from ISKCON temple.
Ahmedabad’s railway station called Kalupur Railway station is located at a distance of 6km from the sacred site. Buses are run by both private and government operators and can be access from either Gita Mandir or Paldi bus stop. You can also book a private cab from top car rental companies in Ahmedabad to reach the temple.
Entry Fees and Timings of ISKCON Temple, Ahmedabad
People can visit the Iskon Temple Timing anytime from 4:30 am in the morning till 1:00 pm in the afternoon or in between 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the evening. Devotees enjoy visiting the temple to witness the varied aartis performed in the temple including Mangala Aarti, Tulsi Aarti, Dhoop Aarti, Raj Bhog Arti, Pushpa Arti and Sandhya Aarti.

Events and Festivals at ISKCON Temple, Ahmedabad

History Of ISKCON
His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada (1896-1977), the famous chief negotiator of spiritual teachings in India, carried the movement forward and established ISKCON in New York in 1965. Let us take a look at ISKCON’s brief history!
The Beginning
In 1965, His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada left Vrindavan behind for spreading the message of Lord Krishna in Western countries. He entered Boston with a trunk full of Lord Krishna’s books and a negligible amount of money in his pocket.
Initially, he struggled a lot, but within a few days, people started noticing him. Some curious people joined him in his chanting and lectures, while some started to acquire serious concern about his holy mission. He lived in New York until the year 1966.
He had started giving lectures on the sacred Bhagavad Gita weekly. In 1966, he established ISKCON in New York City successfully.
Expansion of Iskcon
During the period 1966-1968, more followers joined the sacred mission. As a result, he inaugurated temples in cities like Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, Santa Fe, Montreal, and New Mexico.
Rath-Yatra festival is the largest and oldest yearly festival celebrated in India. The first Rath-Yatra festival was organiz in San Francisco. However, at present, this Rath-Yatra festival is celebrat in different corners of the world by the devotees of the ISKCON.

Establishment of Bhaktivedanta Book Trust and major accomplishments of Srila Prabhupada
From 1970-to 1977, ISKCON created several major pilgrimage centers and sites at the Vrndavana and Mayapur in India. The large temple in Mumbai was also built by the same name.
Srila Prabhupada established BBT (Bhaktivedanta Book Trust), a publishing house, in 1972. They are one of the biggest publishers of Lord Krishna’s books in the contemporary. Srila Prabhupada converted over 40-volumes of Krishna literature from Sanskrit to English within 1966-to 1977. Books like ‘Srimad Bhagavatam’ or ‘Bhagavata Purana,’ the ’18-volumes of Lord Krishna’s incarnation’s history’, ‘pastimes and devotees,’ ‘Sri Caitanya Caritamrita,’ the ‘9-volumes of biography and teaching methods of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’ have been issu by the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust in over 50 languages.
